nba trade deadline

Well, deals are already starting to go down as the NBA trade deadline approaches. A few days ago Carmelo Anthony was traded in a deal that sent him to the New York Knicks. Today, Deron Williams was traded from the Utah Jazz to the New Jersey Nets. In my opinion, the Knicks got a great deal in getting Carmelo and Chauncey Billups who is a proven winner and Finals MVP. The Nets on the other hand....what were they thinking? They gave up a talented young big man in Favors and a solid point guard in Harris, two first round picks and cash FOR ONE PLAYER???? I think that the Nets did nothing to improve their team and in fact made things worse for the future. Unless they can sign a big name free agent but I dont think any player is going to want to go to them because there are not enough pieces to win a championship.

  2. Have to agree with you on the Nets trade. Favors and Harris are two great young players that a team can mold their roster around. Those two mixed in with Brooks Lopez and solid drafting the next couple of years really could have got this team heading in the right direction. Instead they opted to take the big name player right now that they want to build around. I can see both sides of the argument, but like you I would've kept what I had and built around Lopez, Favors, and Harris.
