NHL and NBA playoffs
Now that the first round is over in both playoffs, who do you guys think are the favorites. I personally think it's going to be Bruins vs Red Wings and Bulls vs Lakers. Comments?
2011 Season- Penguins
Well this season did not end the way I wanted to. I think we all thought Crosby would be back to lead to way to the Stanley Cup but it was not meant to be. The Penguins failure on the Power Play (1/37 in the series) and failure to score goals in general really cost them their 3-1 series lead. They only scored 4 goals in the last 3 games of the series and that is not going to get the job done. That said, the resilience shown by this team this year was amazing. Finishing with the 2nd most points in franchise history after playing the majority of the season without Crosby, Malkin, and Staal is incredible. This team deserves so much credit for what they have accomplished and I am looking forward to bringing the Cup back to Pittsburgh next season!

Pens vs Lightning
After James Neal's huge overtime goal, the Penguins are now up 3 games to 1 against Tampa Bay. One more win and it is on to the second round. What teams do you guys feel are the best and worst matchups for the Pens?
Pirates Pitching
Other than Correia, the Pirates starting pitching has been so inconsistent this year. Charlie Morton either pitches amazing or he pitches terrible. Maholm has not pitched well all year. The management needs to make an effort to bring better pitching in if the Pirates want to have a shot at anything.

Pirates
After watching the first 5 games of the season, I dont know how I feel about the Pirates. I am definitely m ore optimistic this year than in the past. They main thing for them is to be consistent. Their line-up is talented enough to win them some games but can they hit consistently? Their pitching staff I feel is not good enough for them to make the playoffs but they need to be consistent too for the Pirates to have a shot at .500
NCAA Tourney and NHL Playoffs
That was, in my opinion, one of the craziest tournaments in recent memory. No 1 or 2 seeds even made the final four. That being said I would like to congratulate UCONN and especially Kemba Walker on one of the best postseasons ever. When it came to tournaments he just would not let his team lose a game.
Now that NCAA Tourney is over, its time to start really focusing on hockey. The playoffs begin in roughly a week and the Penguins are only a point back of Philly for first in the Atlantic Division. This is ridiculous because they have been without Crosby and Malkin for half of the season. Marc-Andre Fleury deserves some attention to win not only the Vezina but MVP of the whole league.

BRACKETS ARE OUT!!!
Well, its that time of year again. Everyone from your best friend to your grandma is filling out a bracket this time of year. The NCAA Tourney is one of the greatest sporting events in the world because it pits the nations top 68 teams against each other in a single elimination tourney. There is so much parity in college basketball that any team can win on any given night. It creates many dramatic games and cinderellas. This is why many people love March Madness and it is my personal favorite sporting event.
